Welcome to The Edge of the World historical fencing academy. My name is Philipp, and I’m the proprietor of this small WMA group, located in Fort Wayne, IN. My group is dedicated to the study and promotion of Western Martial Arts (WMA) and Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA), and most of its members are also associated with the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), where we hope to see these disciplines flourish.
Here you’ll find articles related to our studies and activities. While our primary area of practice is in the sword and buckler of the Walpurgis Fechtbuch (Ms. I.33), our interests extend to the full lineage of the Kunst des Fechtens, from circa 1300AD to circa 1570AD. We also practice various other late medieval and renaissance arts, including the rapier of Nicoletto Giganti (1606AD) and more. Thanks for checking out our blog!
